About Our Club

Mission

The purpose of the Toe Valley Soccer Association, a 501(C)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization, shall be to foster the physical, mental and emotional growth, education, and development of community members by enabling players to develop their skills in the game of soccer. 

TVSA is located in Yancey County, North Carolina, and extends its services to  neighboring communities.

We are affiliated with the North Carolina Youth Soccer Association (NCYSA), the United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA) and United States Soccer Federation (USSF).  We have elected to establish teams for Recreation, Academy, Challenge, and Classic levels of soccer play.

Offered Programs

	Recreational: The primary objective of the Recreational program is to enable players to learn the game of soccer in a fun and stimulating environment. The focus is on developing their skills to help them be the best soccer players they can be, while maintaining a healthy approach to competitive soccer. There are no tryouts and there is a guaranteed participation rule.
	Academy: Academy soccer is a small sided developmental program for 9-11 year old players. At this age it is extremely important for players to master the skills and fundamentals needed to progress in select soccer at the older ages. Winning games is not the focus of the Academy and while games will be played, no standings will be kept. Players of each age group train as a group and team rosters will vary throughout the season.
	Challenge: The NCYSA Challenge Program is a regionalized competitive league that is administered by local Challenge Scheduling Leagues. It is the first step into truly competitive soccer for those aged 8-17 in North Carolina.
	Classic: The NCYSA Classic Program is a state-wide competitive league administered by the NCYSA State Office. It is the highest level of play offered within NCYSA and is a program for those aged 12-18 who want the most rigorous training and game schedule. Classic soccer is a one year commitment (both fall and spring).
	Select: This is a hybrid program that allows both registered Challenge and Classic teams to participate in the same competition. The goal of its creation was to provide a place for those Challenge level teams who did not have a viable Scheduling league to participate in as well as those Classic level teams who were not quite ready for Classic Division 2 competition.
